Crawfordsville – Dorothy M.
Shumate, 77 of 1802 Country Club Road died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday Dec 27 at
Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Aug 13, 1918 in Linden, she graduated
from Linden HS in 1937. She married James M. Shumate Aug 13, 1937 in Danville
and he survives. Mrs. Shumate was a member of First Baptist Church and
Crawfordsville Art League. She enjoyed family, gardening and crafts. Survivors
include two sons, Rondal L. Shumate of Lafayette and Michael D. Shumate of New
York City; a brother, Alvin Winger of Linden and Esther Hamm of Romney.
